The Cotton Sacks

From his son John: “Yes, my dad worked on the family farm in Tippo (Mississippi) and plowed cotton with a mule. He helped load 500 lb bales of cotton from his own dad's cotton gin onto the railroad cars. My dad never really liked that life and always just wanted to play piano.”

Mose said once that he is probably one of the few remaining living bluesmen who can honestly make the claim that they plowed the cotton fields.
